The jazzy, galloping ska backbeat was ceding place to a slower, more elastic groove, and singing styles were mellowing out as well; the vinegary trio harmonies of groups like the Wailers and the Ethiopians gradually gave way to the smoother, more soul-influenced sounds of the Techniques and the Melodians.
The music of this period was, paradoxically, both more spiritual and more sensual than the music that came before, without the ganja-infused mysticism that would come to dominate the music later on. This collection, yet another in a long and fruitful string of collaborations between the American Heartbeat label and Duke Reid's Treasure Isle, brings together 18 gems from the period, including classic tracks by John Holt ("I See Your Face"), Justin Hinds ("Time Pass By"), and Phyllis Dillon ("Take My Heart"), as well as a couple of less noteworthy efforts (such as the Sensations' mediocre "Baby Love").

Kingston Shuffle Funky Sounds and Beats from Kingston Jamaica
Sello británico del Reino Unido comenzó a mediados de los 90 como una subsidiaria del sello On-U Sound de Adrian Sherwood dirigido por Pete Holdsworth. Ahora es su propia entidad autosuficiente. Su objetivo principal es restaurar, remasterizar, compilar y volver a emitir pistas clásicas de reggae junto con una historia en profundidad del artista. "Countless incredible records were made in Kingston between 1968 and 1971 that has never been able to lose the stigma of being described as ‘Skinhead Reggae’ but in Jamaica the term never meant anything. However Bunny Lee’s Aggro Sound’s both at home and away. They were tougher then tough, rougher then rough, kicked like a ‘bovver’ boot and were sharper then a razor cut trim. Raw, pure and undiluted every time...some even troubled the UK national charts.. To say the man and his music dominated at the time would be a complete understatement. ‘Striker’ was everywhere...travelling between Kingston, where he opened his Agro Sounds record shop at 101 Orange Street and London where he set up his Unity label with the Palmer Brothers for the exclusive release of his productions and his Jackpot subsidiaries with both Trojan and Pama records. Ubiquitous does not start to come into it. La reconocida artista de reggae Hollie Cook tiene todo a su favor;

lanzó su auto-titulado álbum debut aclamado en 2011 y que no es ajeno a la música de realeza (su padre es Sex
Pistols baterista Paul Cook y su padrino es Boy George), pero no hay negación
de su talento es la suya. Para
demostrar que tiene una base de fans que comparte su visión, Una multitud ha financiado su último álbum dos veces a
través de PledgeMusic ; historias
de éxito de las plataformas de crowdfunding incluyen Kate Miller- Heidke de
Australia ( PledgeMusic ) y Amanda Palmer de los EE.UU. ( Kickstarter ) . Dos
veces es el LP seguimiento de su amado debut, será ella y productor recurrente

Pista : Ari Up es presentada por las armonías vocales felices , seguido por el sonido de reggae clásico la pista simplemente fluye y cada capa instrumental es clave para la atmósfera. 99 seg comienza con el balanceo de las olas sensual antes de llevarnos en un viaje al Caribe, nos sentimos como si nos deberíamos estar felices bailando , pero el contenido de las letras nos dice que es una canción de ruptura ; siguiente pista tiene un anillo similar a ella , que las transiciones en el ligeramente más oscuro que suena al Bálsamo de Tigre .
La noche es de gran alcance en el ' despertar ' Postman canción con los hilos nerviosos aportados por la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Radio de Macedonia. La angustia y la pérdida del concepto de amor continúa en busca de amor verdadero, la pista parece que sería muy adecuado que se está reproduciendo en el menú de TV de pago; el extremo superior del rango vocal de Hollie resulta deseable en Superfast. Título pista tiene dos veces una influencia de funk / Reggae definitiva, con el profundo acento del bajo y el ritmo de reggae muy familiar y la atmósfera. El álbum se cierra el ganar o perder, que es casi como estar perdido en un paisaje de ensueño.
Hollie Cook todavía, obviamente, demuestra su pasión por el reggae; Dos veces es el reflejo de un típico álbum de reggae, es, literalmente, lo regurgita. Bueno camaradas y amantes de la buena música, en esta ocasión iniciamos la mañana con The Skints, una banda inglesa formada por ahí del año 2005 y cuya vocalista es una de las mejores voces que he escuchado en los últimos tiempos, nada más ni nada menos que Marcia Richards.
Iniciamos con el 7" titulado " Up anainst the wall", publicado por "Seven Inche records" en el año 2010 y que se encuentra en descarga gratuita a través de la plataforma de bandcamp.com.

Trasfondo - Feelings & Sounds (2009)
Bueno camaradas, en esta ocasión les tengo el material de una banda de Reggae Mexicano, les hablo de Trasfondo, con su primer material en estudio titulado "Feelings & Sounds" y lanzado en el año 2009.
Anteriormente era posible descargar de forma gratuita este disco desde su My Space, pero con las actualizaciones de su plataforma parece que ya no no. También aprovecho para actualizar el link de un disco doble que incluía temas de trasfondo y de otra banda pionera en el Reggae en México (Splash) que desafortunadamente ya no existe.
